Recommended Hotels

Rambagh Palace

Rambagh Palace Jaipur
  • One of the Taj Palace Hotels this retains the elegant splendour of a previous royal residence.
  • The beautiful grounds are home to more peacocks than we’ve ever seen before. Watch where you step to avoid what they leave behind!
  • During peak wedding season this is a popular statement venue so some of the grounds will be occupied.
  • Extraordinary, but very expensive. The neighbouring Sawai Man Mahal is linked and provides a little better value.

Sawai Man Mahal

  • Opened in 2022 this is a conversion of buildings and grounds within the Rambagh Palace estate. You can easily walk between the two hotels.
  • This beautiful hotel pays tribute to Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II and the hotel is home to the original Golden Gate from Rambagh Palace and fascinating photos of the Maharaja’s time serving as Ambassador to Spain during Franco’s regime.
  • Luxurious, elegant, well located – and a little more reasonably priced than the Rambagh Palace.
Sawai Man Mahal

Narain Niwas Palace Hotel

Narain Niwas Palace Hotel
  • One of many palace hotels in Jaipur and a great option to get the essence of Jaipur and less expensive than the Taj hotel options.
  • We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building. The rooms are a little “dated” rather than “heritage” in our opinion, but gives that palace feel.
  • Located right next to Bar Palladio and a number of lovely boutique shops.

Trip Highlights

  • Monkey Temple. A hidden gem. Our tour guide discouraged us, we think because some of the complex has been overrun by monkeys and left to decay. We are very glad we persevered and found the “Ganges” spring.
  • Exploring the Old Town and Hawa Mahal with a bit of shopping for block print fabric and Jaipur Blue pottery. Check out our Blog before you spend lots on Jewellery!
